Wabash releases second quarter results

US trailer manufacturer, Wabash National, has reported that its second-quarter net income has risen from $14.1 million in 2013 to $16.2 million in 2014.

“We are again pleased with the results for the second quarter and the continued strong performance of the business, particularly in our commercial trailer products segment,” said Dick Giromini, President and CEO.

“We continue to set new quarterly records for operating performance, as evidenced by our revenue, operating income and operating EBITDA results during the second quarter. These achievements substantiate the transformative nature of our growth and diversification initiatives.”

The report highlighted revenue, which rose 18 per cent to $486 million. The number of trailers shipped rose to approximately 14,950 units, exceeding Wabash's previous guidance of 13,500 to 14,500 trailers.

According to Giromini, the company expects to ship 53,000 to 55,000 trailers this year, equating to a 13 per cent to 18 per cent increase from last year.
