Giga Logistic completes wind park project in Sweden

Swedish transport company, Giga Logistic, was recently tasked with the transportation of a 55-metre rotor blade to help complete a windmill in the town of Björkhöjden in central Sweden.

To transport the 12-tonne blade over a distance of 200km from Sweden's east coast to its final destination, the company used a Faymonville TeleMAX trailer with pendle axles.

The trailer can be extended to a length of up to 65 metres and carry rotor blades measuring up to 80 metres. Its axle system can boast a 600mm stroke and a steering angle of up to 60 degrees.

“The TeleMAX makes it possible to increase the rear ground clearance, so that it can swivel over obstacles,” Faymonville said.

“An indisputable plus are also the rear slide-out extendable platforms [used] as resting point for the rotor blades. This effectively counteracts bending.”
