Bulk Tank International, a Mexico-based manufacturer of stainless steel tank trailers that is also part of Wabash National’s Walker Group division, has been honored with the 2013 Plant Safety Award from the Truck Trailer Manufacturers Association (TTMA).
The award was presented to Wabash National’s Diversified Products Group President, Mark Weber (pictured), during TTMA’s 72nd Annual Convention in Tucson, Arizona.
The annual TTMA Awards are ranked by the number of man-hours worked. Bulk won in the ‘B’ category of the award segmented for plants that reported between 350,000 and 750,000 man-hours. Award determinations are based on direct comparison of injury data from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) Annual Summary Form 300A – the same data used by the National Safety Council and the Bureau of Labor Statistics in the US.
“Being recognized by TTMA for exemplary safety performance is a testament to the operational excellence our associates deliver every day,” said Dave Hodorff, Vice President of Operations for the Walker Group. “This achievement is the result of our entire company’s commitment to safety for all of our associates, which has now been awarded to a Walker Group business for the ninth consecutive year. We congratulate our entire team for a job well done.”
