Multi-million order for Nootebom in South Africa

UK heavy transport expert ALE has placed a multi-million order with Dutch trailer brand Nooteboom. All of the 16 trailers – including eight-axle extendible semi low-loaders and four-axle extendible 'Telesteps' – have been custom-built to transport wind turbine parts.

According to Nootebom, ALE will be erecting wind turbines in the East-Cape and West-Coast regions of South Africa. The components needed are transported over land from various ports to destinations around the country.

Jan Yntema, Director of ALE South Africa, said:  “We can see important long-term opportunities in South-Africa for wind energy and therefore we made sure to choose the best trailers there are for this application.

“For us this meant Nooteboom Trailers, because they are widely known to set the trend in innovative solutions for the transport of wind turbines. The … quality, the specific adjustments for South Africa and the after-service they offer have been the deciding factors.”
