In a move to become a leading force in the European trailer market, German brand Kögel has appointed Wolfgang Schuster as new Managing Director, Sales and Marketing. Schuster will join company owner Ulrich Humbaur; CEO Thomas Heckel; as well as Jürgen Steinbacher, Managing Director for Financial Resources, Controlling and Personnel; and Thomas Eschey, Managing Director Technology and Production on the board.
Schuster can draw on more than 24 years of experience in the commercial vehicle industry and has been representing Kögel as International Sales Manager before joinging the management team. The expansion of the management team is supposed to fuel Kögel's international expansion and will see CEO Thomas Heckel take over the Licences/Internationalisation, After Market, Rental and Used Vehicles department.
According to CEO Heckel, that strategy will eventually see Kögel close the gap to the two leading brands in Europe over the next few years. “The appointment of Wolfgang Schuster to the board also reinforces our focus on customer service … He will ensure that our customers' concerns receive attention at board level.”
Schuster: “I am approaching the task with the aim… to continuously expand Sales and Marketing on a global basis … even in a volatile European market.”
