Utility Trailer exceeds production milestone

US trailer manufacturer Utility Trailer has recently met a historical production milestone, finalizing the 200,000th reefer trailer at its manufacturing plant in Clearfield, Utah.

“We opened the new facility in Utah specifically for our popular 3000R refrigerated trailer. The design and layout of the larger facility accommodated the advanced tooling specific to the 3000R,” said Steve Smith, Utility’s Clearfield Plant Manager.

“From 178,000 square feet (16,540m2) of space to the larger facility which exceeds 500,000 square feet (46,450m2), we’ve increased production efficiencies with a continuous production flow by expanding and adding a second assembly line for high-option trailers.”

A leading force in manufacturing of refrigerated trailers and a leading manufacturer of dry freight vans, flatbeds, and curtain-sided trailers,
Utility’s first Clearfield plant opened in 1965 and closed in 2001. The new, larger facility adjacent to the area opened in January 2000.
