Krone secures key contracts in Europe

German trailer giant Krone has recently delivered some 200 'Jumbo' swap bodies to Bremerhaven-based logistics expert Würfel Holding. The new equipment is part of a comprehensive modernisation strategy to update the Würfel fleet.

“Swap box bodies are used by many of our customers, and demand is increasing continuously. Because our customers place great emphasis on quality and functionality, we have been using Krone for years”, said Karim Gebara, Managing Director of Würfel Holding GmbH. “In addition to quality and durability, the advantage of a Krone swap body is its user-friendliness. Folding away and locking the support legs can be carried out in a few minutes. This saves valuable time and thus, real cash.”

Boasting a fleet of 1,000 swap box bodies and 400 vehicles, Würfel currently employs more than 1,000 people and manages 150,000 square metres of storage space.

Meanwhile, Oxford-based Axis Fleet Management, a rigid and trailer leasing subsidiary of Axis Intermodal, has added 100 Krone Cool Liner trailers to its refrigerated fleet (pictured). Joining a mixed fleet of over 2000 assets, the trailers will be used to service leading cold chain logistics operators in the UK and Europe.
