UK trailer manufacturer Gray & Adams has announced it will be displaying a 44-pallet ‘lifting-deck’ (also known as mezzanine floor design) trailer and an 18-tonne Mercedes-Benz Axor rigid at the 2013 Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham on 9-11 April.
According to Gray & Adams, the new 44-pallet model will allow operators to make practical use of space on the two decks to achieve a 10 per cent increase in carrying capacity compared to a standard, 13.6-metre ‘double-deck’ model.
Meanwhile, the 18-tonne Mercedes-Benz Axor rigid will feature the radically styled ‘Dolphin body’. Designed to maximise fuel-efficiency and cut CO2 emissions, the Dolphin also features all-new body cappings that follow the 3D curvature of the roof, and a vortex generator to smooth the airflow around the back of the vehicle.
