Dutch trailer manufacturer, D-TEC, has unveiled a new system combining simple container transportation and a sophisticated end-tipping function in one articulated semi.
The “Flexitrailer” can boast a removable tipper frame that can lift up standard 20-foot shipping containers. The six-metre steel frame has a tareweight of 1.3 tonnes and can hoist containers to a 60-degree angle so they can be emptied through the rear.
The system is powered by an electro-hydraulic unit that is strong enough to lift a maximum weight of 30 tonnes.
The tipping system can also be used with trailers of a different make.
