Trailer auction to support victims of Hurricane Sandy

US company, Witzco Trailers, will auction off a step-deck trailer with a capacity of 50 tonnes to support the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund. The vehicle will be sold by Alex Lyon and Son Auctions in Mays Landing, New Jersey – with 100 per cent of the proceeds being donated.

In addition, Alex Lyon and Son Auction will waive their customary fees for the sale and LAP Transport will waive the transport fee from the Witzco plant in Florida to Mays Landing, New Jersey. The auction will be held on December 15th.

Established in 1938, Witzco Trailers is a family-owned and operated business producing a variety of heavy-duty trailers. The company originated in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, but moved to Sarasota, Florida, in 1979. Several family members have spent many years vacationing at the Jersey Shore, in Atlantic City and Brigantine. CEO of Witzco Trailers, Steve Witzer, is also a resident of Ventnor, New Jersey.

“We feel compelled to help,” he stated.  “As soon as we heard about this fund to help those in New Jersey who have been afflicted by Hurricane Sandy, we decided this would be the right thing to do.”
