Fliegl offering Haldex TEM as standard feature

German trailer specialist, Fliegl, has announced to offer Haldex’ Trailer Emergency Module (TEM) as a standard feature on every vehicle from 2013 going forward.

According to Managing Director, Helmut Fliegl, the company is the first in Germany to provide the innovative system as a standard option to improve safety across the board. “That’s how we increase safety for our clientele without making them pay extra for it,” he said.

“We  continually develop our trailers in accordance with  the motto‚ Safety First. Innovations from Haldex, therefore, constitute meaningful additions to our products.”

Haldex’ TEM can boast a ‘Safe Parking’ function, which prevents the most frequent causes of accidents during coupling and uncoupling. It ensures that the trailer’s parking brake is not released, even if the driver accidentally connects the red coupling head first. The parking brake is released only when the driver deactivates it a second time by pressing the red control knob.

“The new Trailer Emergency Module stands for added safety. Safe Parking prevents fatal consequences resulting from incorrect coupling,” said Fliegl.

All semi-trailers and centre-axle trailers with Haldex EB+ units will be fitted with the TEM Safe Parking feauture as standard equipment starting next year. Customers will receive detailed technical instruction about the system’s advantages upon installation.
