German-based Jost Group, one of the most successful suppliers of advanced trailing equipment in the world, has acquired UK hydraulics specialist, Edbro. The British brand will join Jost, Rockinger and Tridec as the fourth main brand within the Group.
Edbro has gained global renown in designing and manufacturing both frontend and underbody cylinders as well as related systems for the commercial road transport industry. The wide portfolio of on-road and off-road equipment is used in the truck and trailer market alike.
With the acquisition of Edbro, the Jost Group has strengthened its product portfolio by adding a fourth high-quality line of products to the mix, according to an official statement. “In turn, Edbro can profit from Jost's customer base in terms of further expansion worldwide. Both partners can look forward to starting a very promising collaboration in the future. Edbro, welcome as the new member of the Jost world.“
Since its inception in 1916, Edbro has been specialised in hoists for the tipping market. According to the company slogan, 'faster, lighter, stronger', product development and production are still focused on innovation, advanced material science and a quality finish.
Edbro is headquartered in Bolton nearby Manchester and currently employs about 200 people. The brand can also draw on on a range of sales partners across the globe. Their customers are international bodybuilders and fleets.
