Meritor opens new Aftermarket Distribution and Customer Service Center in Singapore

US company Meritor, a leading global supplier of drivetrain, mobility, braking and aftermarket solutions for commercial vehicle and industrial markets, recently held a ceremony to open a new ASEAN Aftermarket Distribution and Customer Service Center in Jurong Town, Singapore. The event was attended by customers, suppliers, business partners and government officials, including David Adelman, US ambassador to Singapore.

With the ability to supply Indochina, Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand, the new facility will provide commercial vehicle axle, brake, driveline and suspension parts – under the Meritor, TruckTechnic, Euclid and Mascot brands – to distributors in the region, along with thousands of end-user truck operators.

“Our global experience with serving our customers has enabled us to incorporate many advancements in this new distribution center solidifying our leadership position in the Aftermarket,” said Eike Torsten Merz, managing director, Aftermarket, Asia Pacific, Meritor. “Our speed to customers in Asia Pacific will improve dramatically, as well as our ample critical-parts inventory to meet all truck, tractor and trailer service parts demands.”

The Singapore facility is another expansion of the company’s Aftermarket footprint, by which commercial vehicle customers are serviced and supplied by a growing footprint of aftermarket distribution centers. Other facilities have opened recently in India, China and Australia that will all be managed by the Singapore headquarters.

The facility is also an integral part of the company’s recent launch into an aftermarket-based, third-party multiple logistics business called Meritor Logistics, which offers unique competencies including: packaging and kitting, material planning, warehousing, distribution, customer support, core consolidation, remanufacturing and consulting services.

Meritor operates aftermarket distribution centers in Australia, Canada, China, Germany, India, Mexico, South America, United Kingdom and United States and serves nearly 6,000 customers globally. The company also has dedicated remanufacturing facilities in Belgium, Canada, United States and United Kingdom.
