US company Aerofficient wins top honours

US company Aerofficient received the prestigious “Top 20 Products of 2011” award for its side skirt design at the 2012 American Trucking Association's Annual Technology & Maintenance Council Meeting & Exhibition held in Tampa, Florida.

Aerofficient, a leading designer and manufacturer of aerodynamic enhancement devices for heavy-duty trailers, was awarded on the basis of its innovation, the ability to address top industry issues, and the potential to improve a fleet's bottom line.

Aerofficient’s side skirt was selected from hundreds of products and services introduced to the commercial trucking industry between December 2010 and November 2011. The company’s fairings are produced from an injection molded automotive-grade thermoplastic polyolefin material known for its high performance properties and ability to withstand thermal expansion and contraction caused by extremes of heat and cold.

In addition, the patent-pending hinged, three-panel design of Aerofficient's fairings provides extraordinary strength and flexibility – attributes required for survival in the real world of trucking, such as drop-down docks, snow-banks and road and yard hazards.

“We make our products to withstand the rigors of trucking and yield high returns on our customers' investments,” said Jim Reiman. “Being acknowledged by such a prestigious independent source for achieving exactly what we set out to achieve is a huge honour.”
